2021 Season Sign-Ups

The Piqua Junior Baseball & Softball League Board Members are back at it and ready for the 2021 season sign-ups. An agreement has again been made between the PJBSL and the Miami Valley Centre Mall which is where sign-ups will again be held. Additionally the Board has decided to have Picture Day at the Mall prior to Opening Day. Board President Nathan Penrod said "We are excited to once again partner with the Miami Valley Centre Mall. It's a perfect place to accommodate, what we anticipate will be, a very large group of kids and parents coming to get signed up". Penrod added, "we have decided to have our pictures done on April 10th which will also be at the Mall. That way the parents have a better chance of receiving their pictures prior to Opening Day".

This will be the second season for the PJBSL. Surprisingly they were able to salvage a season this past Spring after COVID-19 brought the world to its knees. We asked Penrod what plans are being made in case the current restrictions of mass gatherings continue. "We are working closely with the Piqua Health Department and will continue to monitor the spread". The PJBSL Board is being optimistic that a vaccine will be available soon which will hopefully allow the world to get back to normal. "As of now, we are full steam ahead and preparing again for a grand Opening Day."

Many are wondering if the PJBSL is planning to have a parade for the 2021 season. The PJBSL is pleased to announce that they do in fact plan on having the parade. "We were so excited for the possibility of bringing back the Opening Day Parade and festivities in 2020 but obviously we weren't able to do it because of the virus. Unless things change, we are planning for a wonderful opening day which is on Saturday May 1st at Pitsenbarger Park, parade and all."
